The China Book Center was launched at the Asian Center, University of the Philippines Diliman. The China Book Center holds over 500 English publications on China, which will be made available to the public via the Asian Center library.

ABOUT THE BOOKS

The books cover a wide range of themes on Chinese history, politics, literature, culture, philosophy, economy, and science and technology. A part of the collection is the Library of Chinese Classic, a series which includes Journey to the West, The Analects, The Scholars, and Ancient Chinese Fables, among others.

ABOUT THE CHINA BOOK CENTER

The China Book Center helps enrich the China Studies Program of the UP Asian Center. It aims to raise awareness of Filipino students on Chinese history, politics, society and culture, and help foster dialogue and good will between the Philippines and China.

The books were donated by China Report Maganize and the China International Publishing Group, while the shelves, chairs, table, TV and CCTV were provided courtesy of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Philippines.

The Asian Center offers M.A. degrees in Asian Studies with four fields of specialization: Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, and West Asia. The Center also has an M.A. program in Philippine Studies that allows students to major in Philippine society and culture, Philippine foreign relations, or Philippine development studies. The Center offers a Ph.D.  program in Philippine Studies in conjunction with the College of Arts and Letters and the College of Social Sciences and Philosophy.
