Upcoming Events @ UP Asian Center

The forum-exhibit also features research posters by graduate students of the UP Asian Center taking up the course Asian Studies (AS) 255.1 (Social and Economic Development in Southeast Asia) under UP Asian Center Dean Joefe B. Santarita. 

The UP Asian Center will launch a forum-poster exhibit, Asia on the Rise: Challenges for Philippine Foreign Relations, on 17 May 2018, 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm, UP Asian Center, QC. The forum-exhibit is free and open to the public; seating is first-come, first-served, but participants are asked to sign up. 

The UP Asian Center will host a forum, Contemporary Issues in Non-Traditional Security: Implications for Philippine Foreign Policy, on 11 May 2018, 1 pm–4 pm, at the Seminar Room, UP Asian Center, QC. The forum is free and open to the public; seating is first-come, first-served, but participants are requested to sign up.

The exhibit showcases the highlights, experiences, and findings of graduate students of the UP Asian Center on their cultural immersion and mapping of two Mangyan communities in northern Oriental Mindoro—the Iraya Mangyan tribe of Puerto Galera and the Alangan Mangyan tribe of Baco—from 21–22 April 2018.

The conference features three sessions covering 14 panels and 58 presentations from the graduate students of the UP Asian Center taking up their MAs at the UP Asian Center and their PhDs at the TriCollege PhD Philippine Studies program.
