Wherever I am, the world comes after me.
It offers me its busyness. It does not believe that I do not want it.
Now I understand
why the old poets of China went so far
and high
into the mountains, then crept into the pale mist.

The UP Asian Center will be holding a Records Management Seminar for the Asian Center Staff on 23 and 24 March 2026, 1:00 - 4:00 PM, PST (GMT+8), at the Seminar Room, UP Asian Center. The event is exclusively for the Asian Center Staff.

ABOUT THE WEBINAR

Effective records management is a critical component of good governance, institutional accountability, and operational efficiency. As an academic and research institution, the University of the Philippines Asian Center generates and maintains a substantial volume of administrative, academic, research, and financial records. These documents are vital assets that support decision-making, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and preserve institutional memory.

With the increasing demand for transparency, digital transformation, and adherence to quality assurance standards, it is essential for the Asian Center staff to strengthen their competencies in proper records creation, classification, storage, retrieval, retention, and disposal. The proposed Records Management Seminar aims to enhance staff capacity and align office practices with established records management principles and national standards.

Further, the seminar aims to

      1. Enhance the staff’s understanding of fundamental records management principles and lifecycle processes,
      2. Promote standardized procedures in records classification, filing, retention, and disposal.
      3. Strengthen compliance with national records management regulations and institutional policies,
      4. Improve efficiency in document retrieval and information sharing across units, and
      5. Support ongoing quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives of the Center.
