The Asian Center, University of the Philippines Diliman is looking for one (1) graduate assistant in the Dean's Office for the Second Semester AY 2021  - 2022. The deadline for submission of applications is on or before 20 March 2022. This is open to all UP graduate students.

Job Overview


Graduate assistants assist the Dean in research, editing, and administrative tasks. Their primary responsibilities include assisting the Office of the Dean in various administrative work and conducting various research tasks.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide administrative, clerical, and office support to the Dean;
  • Conduct research; collect and/or process data
  • Assist with implementation and/or evaluation of research projects/programs
  • Prepare materials for research activities/presentations
  • Carry out special projects or other research assignments
  • Transcribe minutes of the meeting
  • Assist faculty member(s) in grading, advising, and course-related administrative duties as assigned or prescribed by the Dean
  • Collaborate with faculty in preparing publications as assigned or prescribed by the Dean
  • Other relevant duties or tasks assigned by the Dean.

Working Hours and Eligibility

  • Working hours will depend on the number of units being taken, but will at least be 30 hours per month or up to 120 hours at most.
  • Must be a continuing student in UP Diliman, eligible to enroll during the term when appointed as a graduate assistant
  • Must not be enrolled in more than twelve (12) units during the semester of appointment.
  • AC graduate students are highly encouraged to apply

Compensation

  • PhP 100 per for hour: MA students
  • PhP 140 per hour: PhD students

  • Validated Form 5 (current semester; enrolled in at least three units)
  • True copy of Grades from the previous semester

The Asian Center, University of the Philippines Diliman offers M.A. degrees in Asian Studies with four fields of specialization: Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, and West Asia.
