  • UP Asian Center's Siao Campoamor Recognized for Oustanding Research in Filipino

    UP Asian Center Professor Gonzalo A. Campoamor II, Ph.D., has been conferred the 2026 Gawad Tsanselor para sa Natatanging Mananaliksik sa Filipino, one of the most prestigious distinctions awarded to the UP Diliman faculty for their exemplary accomplishments and contributions to their respective fields. The awarding ceremonies will be held on 8 May 2026, and can be watched live via the official UP Diliman website and YouTube Channel.

The conference is open only for the students of the UP Asian Center and TriCollege Ph.D. Philippine Studies Program.

Under the Japan Foundation Grant Program for Japanese Studies Projects (Library Support), a total of 39 books were donated to the UP Asian Center Library on 1 April 2024.

The UP Asian Center has been selected as one of the recipients of materials by the Read Japan Project. The impressive collection covered the fields Japanese Culture and History, Japanese contemporary society, and even Japanese architecture. A total of fifty-four (54) books were donated to the UP Asian Center Library on 26 March 2024.
