  • UP Asian Center's Siao Campoamor Recognized for Oustanding Research in Filipino

    UP Asian Center Professor Gonzalo A. Campoamor II, Ph.D., has been conferred the 2026 Gawad Tsanselor para sa Natatanging Mananaliksik sa Filipino, one of the most prestigious distinctions awarded to the UP Diliman faculty for their exemplary accomplishments and contributions to their respective fields. The awarding ceremonies will be held on 8 May 2026, and can be watched live via the official UP Diliman website and YouTube Channel.

The UP Asian Center, in collaboration with the UPD Office for Initiatives in Culture and the Arts and the UP College of Fine Arts, will hold the "Tampat Pag-addatan Sahaya: Place, Tradition and Light," featuring a lecture demonstration, performances, and an exhibit launch on 6 June 2024, 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, at the GT-Toyota Asian Center Auditorium, UP Asian Center, University of the Philippines Diliman. TriCollege Ph.D. Philippine Studies Program alumna, Dr. Marichu C. Liwanag was appointed as the new Deputy Director General of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) – Foreign Service Institute (FSI). As deputy director general, she will be responsible for leading the administrative programs and projects of the institute and aligning its operations with internationally accepted standards.
