TRICOLLEGE PHILIPPINE STUDIES PROGRAM
Philippine Studies is an academic discipline encompassing the study of Filipino society and culture and its constituent ethnolinguistic groups. The Tri-College Ph.D. Philippine Studies Program is jointly offered by the Asian Center (AC), the College of Arts and Letters (CAL), and the College of Social Sciences and Philosophy (CSSP) of the University of the Philippines Diliman.
The program seeks to problematize the distinct identity of Filipinos, produce specialists capable of identifying and studying Philippine programs using multi- and interdisciplinary approaches and methodologies, expose students to different disciplinal perspectives, and impart a holistic approach to Philippine problems.
BRIEF LIST OF REQUIREMENTS
Below is the list of requirements for the TriCollege Ph.D. Philippine Studies Program. The deadline for application is on 30 November 2025.
Applicants are REQUIRED to submit BOTH SOFT AND HARD COPIES of all application documents.
1. MA or MS degree from a recognized institution of learning with a Grade weighted average of 1.75 or better (MA)

4. Personal Data Form (Word • PDF)
5. Student Directory
6. Dissertation Plan
7. Three (3) letters of recommendation from former professors or experts from the applicant's discipline(s) /areas(s) of study

b. HARD COPY : Must be submitted to the Asian Center in a sealed envelope
8. Transcript of Records (TOR) – Original AND Photocopy
9. Certificate of Transfer Credentials – For non-UP applicants only
10. Birth Certificate (PSA Copy) – Original AND Photocopy
11. Marriage Certificate – For female married applicants only
12. Two (2) pieces of passport-sized photos
13. Computation of GWA
13. PHP100.00 (USD 25 for Foreign Applicant) College Admission Fee.

STEP 3: Include in the email body the request for the College Admission Fee Billing Statement to be prepared by the TriCollege Secretariat
For Hard Copy Submission
STEP 1: Place all of your documents in a long brown envelope.
STEP 2: At the back of the envelope, write your full name: Surname, First Name, Middle Name
