Korean Studies in the Global South | A Special Lecture
The UP Asian Center in collaboration with the INHA Center for International Studies, UP Korea Research Center, and the UP Center for International Studies will host the special lecture, "Korean Studies in the Global South | A Special Lecture" on 29 August 2025, 3 PM to 5 PM (GMT+8), at the Seminar Room, Asian Center, UP Diliman. Three Korea majors from the Asian Center recently participated in two major conferences on Korea Studies in Seoul, South Korea in May and July 2025.

Unwrapping Japanese Culture Through the Tenugui Textile | An Exhibit of Japanese Hand-Dyed Cloth
The UP Asian Center is organizing the exhibit and curator's talk, “Unwrapping Japanese Culture Through the Tenugui Textile: An Exhibit of Japanese Hand-Dyed Cloth” on 20 August 2025, 1 PM to 3 PM (GMT+8), ONSITE at the UP Asian Center. The exhibit and a pop-up store will run from 18 to 23 August 2025, 11 AM to 5 PM at the UP Asian Center. The event is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to register online.

The UP Asian Center in collaboration with the European Network in Universal and Global History (ENIUGH), the Global Diplomacy Network (GDN), and the Linnaeus University Center for Concurrences in Colonial and Postcolonial Studies (LNUC) is now ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS for the International Summer School "Towards Inclusive Global Histories" on 7-9 September 2025 at Linnaeus University, Växjö, Sweden. The deadline for applications is on 31 January 2025.

The UP TriCollege PhD Philippine Studies Program and the UP Asian Center will hold a Writing Bootcamp on 7 and 14 December 2024, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, PST (GMT+8) at the Seminar Room, UP Asian Center. The event is FREE OF CHARGE. Limited slots are available. Registrations are on a first-come, first-serve basis. All registrants are expected to attend the two-day boot camp.
