The UP Asian Center successfully conducted the 5th Biennial Conference of the Consortium for Southeast Asian Studies in Asia (SEASIA). First time held in the Philippines, the conference was held from 18 to 20 July 2024 at the GT-Toyota Asian Center and the UP School of Economics.

The UP Asian Center successfully held the Student Orientation for newly admitted students for the First Semester of Academic Year 2024-2025 on 17 August 2024, a few days before the start of classes, at the Seminar Room, GT-Toyota Asian Cultural Center.

The UP Asian Center in partnership with the Eurasia Center of John von Neumann University will hold the symposium "The Practice of Area Studies in the Philippines and Hungary" on 9 September 2024, 1:30 to 3:30 PM, at the Seminar Room, UP Asian Center, University of the Philippines Diliman. The event is free and open to the public. Online pre-registration is recommended due to limited seating.

The Asian Center, University of the Philippines Diliman is looking for two (2) graduate assistants for the Office of the Dean and the TriCollege Ph.D. Philippine Studies Program for the First Semester, AY 2024–2025. The deadline for applications is on 15 September 2024. This is open to all UP Diliman graduate students. AC graduate students are highly encouraged to apply.
