  • Read Japan Expands UP Asian Center’s Library Collection

    The UP Asian Center has been selected as one of the recipients of materials by the Read Japan Project. The impressive collection covered the fields Japanese Culture and HistoryJapanese contemporary societyand even Japanese architecture. A total of fifty-four (54) books were donated to the UP Asian Center Library on 26 March 2024.

  • UP Asian Center Hosts Launch of Book on WWII Filipino Infantry Regiments

    The UP Asian Center organized a book launch of "Dauntless: The 1st & 2nd Filipino Infantry Regiments, United States Army," authored by Marie Silva Vallejo. Held on 18 April 2024, at the Seminar Room, GT-Toyota Asian Cultural Center, the event included a public lecture shedding light on the critical role played by these Filipino regiments in World War II.

  • ADZU Students pays a visit to UP Asian Center

    The International Studies Organization of Ateneo de Zamboanga University visited the UP Asian Center last 17 April 2024 as part of their educational tour. The Center welcomed a total of 29 visitors at the GT-Toyota Asian Cultural Center.

The UP Asian Center, in partnership with the Japan Foundation Manila, successfully held the undergraduate leg of the “Japanese Studies in the Philippines: The 6th Japanese Studies Research Development Competition” on 9 March 2024, 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, at the Seminar Room, GT-Toyota Asian Cultural Center.

The UP Asian Center in partnership with FACTS Asia hosted the closed-door roundtable “India in a World of Asymmetrical Multipolarity” on 27 February 2024, at the Seminar Room, GT-Toyota Asian Cultural Center, University of the Philippines, Diliman.

The UP Asian Center, in partnership with the UP Center for International Studies and UP Korea Research Center, successfully hosted the special lecture, “Kung Ano Ang Natutunan Ko Bilang Manunulat sa Panonood ng K-Dramas Tungkol sa Kasaysayan” (What I Learned as a Writer From Watching Historical K-Dramas) last 23 February 2024 at the GT-Toyota Asian Cultural Center Auditorium, UP Diliman.

The Association of Southeast Asian Studies – UK is now accepting submissions for its “ASEAS International Ph.D. Workshop” to be held on 21-22 May 2024. The workshop is hosted by Brawijaya University in Malang, Indonesia and sponsored by the University of Leeds. The deadline for submission is on 31 March 2024.

The UP Asian Center and the Japan Foundation Manila will hold the "Japanese Studies in the Philippines: The 6th Japanese Studies Research Development Competition” on 9 March 2024, 9:00 am to 12:00 pm (GMT+8) and 23 March 2024, 9:00 am to 12:00 pm (GMT+8), both at the Seminar Room, GT-Toyota Asian Cultural Center. The event is free and open to the public.
